Translate for everyone

In view of the 17th anniversary of MYETV, which will be on July 1, 2025, today we are introducing several features that will be activated during this month regarding neural translations. The first major news is the update of the real-time text translations in 25 different languages, using several neural models of artificial intelligence of millions of lines; neural networks are so called because the system is loosely inspired by the biological neural networks that make up the human brain. The elements that represent neurons are organized into layers (neural network- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - ). The network is made up of units called “nodes” (like human neurons) and all the units are connected each connection is a number called an “edge”. The connection between neurons and edges is represented by a specific number called “weight” during processing the weight is adjusted, for example when the machine has more translated data to analyze. Applied to translation, unlike the traditional sentence-based translation system, which consists of many small subcomponents tuned separately, neural machine translation attempts to build and train a large neural network that reads a sentence and the context.

A machine can also be trained to meet the specific needs of an industry (legal translation, medical translation, etc.) or a client’s area of practice, which will have its own vocabulary. NMTs are primarily dependent on the training data used to train the neural network, as it learns to mimic the data it was trained on. Many custom-developed, industry-specific, high-precision machine translation (MT) models still incorporate neural and statistical methods to achieve the best performance for our clients. Each sentence pair makes a slight change to the neural network model as it runs through each sentence pair using an algorithm called back propagation.

The new platform- [Platform: the set of the main domain and all the subdomain of a particular website; also the computer architecture and equipment using a particular operating system] - translate.myetv.tv

Today we present, in addition to the various updates that I specify below, a completely new neural network-based translation engine at https://translate.myetv.tv this translation engine will be able to translate not only text in 25 different languages, but also from an image to text and vice versa, from audio to text and/or from video to text (some features will not be immediately active upon product launch). The platform will be a point of reference not only for those who work with us, but also for all users; furthermore, for users with a registered account- [Account: an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] - there will be many more advantages (such as the possibility of infinite translations). Currently text to text translation offers a wysiwyg where you can format html which will also be translated and there will also be the possibility to see the translated text in html code. A uniqueness in the field of translations. The platform will be usable by anyone and without too many restrictions, but with some limitations if you do not use it with a free MYETV account. The platform will use a second neural network based on the geoip or the control of the language used by the browser, to understand the language used from the first access- [Access the simple access to a website as a visitor] - ; it is possible to change the language used by pressing on “Change the language of the platform” in the menu at the top of the page.

WYSIWYG is updated

We have also updated our wysiwyg with a version translated into 25 different languages, exclusively built for MYETV; a touch of uniqueness that few can afford. Thanks to constant and meticulous work we have created translations for different languages ranging from Chinese to English, but also Spanish, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Norwegian, Finnish and many others; 25 languages ready to be used. There is really no limit to what we can create.

Text to Text translation

Text translation is one of the features that are active right away on https://translate.myetv.tv and allows you to translate text formatted with HTML and recover the translated formatted text or even the relative HTML code. The platform may have limits for users who are not registered with MYETV. To increase these limits (like the rate-limit) just register on MYETV with a free account. Very simple.

Translation for everyone

Not content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - with all this, we are also updating the translations for content on MYETV in the timelines; currently the button is only displayed if you have an active MY EXTENSION called “translate”, but with this update we will make the button accessible for all content even if they do not have this extension active. The content owner- [Content Owner: the owner(s) of a content (usually includes all owners of the network that shared it)] - will then be able to decide whether to show it or not in the content edit page. The extension will be updated to add more text translation options. This update will mark a milestone for MYETV as it push harder and harder to create something unique.

Where do pre-trained models come from?

We use the default models of the libretranslate translation engine, from Argos Open Tech (Argos Translate), designed for performance; but for complex languages we can also use pre-trained models from MarianMT (form Hugging Face) which are smoother although much larger and more expensive to use. Both the translation engine and the neural models are all open source. We also use post- and pre-processing of translations for grammar and some words that need to remain intact after translation (such as trademarks).

Conclusions

Most of these updates will be released during this month, while the translation platform will already be active when this post is posted. Text-to-text translation will be active right away, while some features of the translation platform will be activated over time; for each update we make, we will inform you through our social channels and update this post with the updates made.
