The new features on MYETV continue, today we present an important update because we care about the privacy of all our members; this update is an exclusive and absolutely new feature and allows owners of any content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - to set an automatic change of privacy for their content by setting a future date, by choosing this setting the content will change its privacy. Let’s take an example:
The content was posted on 05/27/2025 initially set as “only for followers- [Follower: a follower refers to a person who subscribes to your account or network in order to receive your updates] - “; the owner decides to activate the “time privacy” function and sets that on 05/30/2025 (in 3 days) the content will automatically change the settings with “public” privacy. At that point the content will automatically become accessible to everyone.
This is a feature that has been thought of and wanted for a long time and that we have been testing for a while; we have finally managed to implement it in a first version that will automatically change the privacy functions for both “visibility” and “access- [Access the simple access to a website as a visitor] - ”. In a future version of the feature we may split the functionality for both privacy levels, but for now this is fine.
The pioneers of this feature
MYETV was among the first platforms to separate “visibility” of content and “access” to content; we were also the first to make this new “time privacy” feature available to everyone. Combined with GeoIP and GeoLanguage controls, these features are the heart of privacy on MYETV. This confirms how platforms like ours, always ready to update and search for new features, play an essential role in the search for new features that concern privacy, security or even the freedom of each individual. Most of the time we find these features in large platforms.
In addition to these controls, there is also the option to make content visible only on the homepage of your network of contents- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - (not the public homepage); with these new automated settings based on dates, we have greatly expanded the privacy controls for contents- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - .
Conclusions and ways of use
This feature is still basic and many updates will be made to make it better; currently you can choose a date up to 14 days in the future, expressed in UTC format, at a predefined time interval. Dates have a specific time that goes up 24 hours and the settings will always be changed at 23:59 (UTC). So for example if the content was published on 05/27/2025 you can choose the date 05/28/2025 at 23:59 or 05/29/2025 at 23:59 and so on up to 14 days. Additionally, the privacy settings will be changed, with those chosen, both for visibility and access to content; future updates could be committed to splitting the two privacy settings and setting a date differently for each of the two distinct features.
