We have made the registration page much easier by eliminating the use of a username; the only mandatory fields when registering an account- [Account: an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] - are email and password. A username will be assigned automatically and cannot be changed; in its place, in the account modification page, there is the modification of a nickname. The custom nickname will replace the username for all audiences (even in search engines) and will also constitute the new public URL of the personal network- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - . In the nickname it is not possible to insert numbers or special characters, spaces are allowed; when you change your nickname from the profile edit page, the exact date of the name/URL change will always be saved. The nickname cannot be more than 30 characters and less than 2 character, initial and final spaces are deleted. This simplification allows you to register for a new account more quickly.
The format of the automatically assigned username is: my-[8 characters hash][4 characters random string]-tv
*[8 characters hash]: this string is taken by an hash of your email plus the time of now with adler32 algorithm
*[4 characters random string]: this is a random string generated randomly and not cryptographically secure
Your username can still be used to access- [Access the simple access to a website as a visitor] - to your account (username or email) and will be always visible with the edit profile page. The nickname cannot be used to access to your account (login- [Login: an act of logging in to a computer, database, website or system] - ); when you setup a custom nickname the url of your network will change and your nickname will be used for all the public purposes, only the original username can always be used to access to your account (login).
The original username cannot be modified and is stored encrypted with the latest security standards.
Terms of Services and Privacy Policy will be updated soon with these changes. Thanks for reading this, folks.
