We have just changed the way videos can be uploaded to MYETV and this also includes all user uploaded videos. Using MYCLOUD exclusively, videos can be uploaded privately and then published on MYETV as content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - , but in both cases they will take up space on MYCLOUD; all the encoded video contents- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - , that are published, will be moved from the MYCLOUD folder to another folder inside the cloud and will be stored there. Be careful, however, once deleted, or moved to another folder, the link to that already published the video content ceases to exist and the post will become without the content until the same (or another) video is repositioned in that folder. The artifical intelligence will delete the published content in one day if will be without the video in that original folder. For example:
Before: Upload- [Upload: the action by a owners of the network of sending an image or audio or video file (named as content) from the device] - video -> publish content -> move video to a protected and hidden folder (not mycloud)
Now: Upload video -> publish content -> the video will be moved inside the MYCLOUD for example in that folder /videos/[ID]/
The video will remain in your private MYCLOUD in a folder dedicated to it.
If previously the file was moved from MYCLOUD to a hidden folder, and therefore without the limits imposed by the account- [Account: an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] - in use, it is now no longer possible to bypass the storage limits of MYCLOUD; the published video must remain in the MYCLOUD folder for its entire life cycle, if it is deleted the video published in the post will also be deleted. The following files will therefore be moved to the folder:
- The folder called “vp1” for video files with extension .mp4
- The folder called “vp9” for video files with extension .webm
- The thumbnail of the content (automatically extracted from the first farmes of the video)
- The logfiles of the encoding procedures (.txt) that are available to moderators
If you will remove the entire folder than you will remove all that files (also the hidden files) and the content will become unaccessible.
How are videos encoded?
All processed videos are encoded in two passes with two modern codecs vp9 and av1 and the files are moved to the folder with a name similar to /videos/[id]/vp9/filename.webm or /videos/[id]/av1/ filename.mp4 for more information on video encoding you can read here: https://blog.myetv.tv/2023/10/07/av1-video-encoding-open-source-video-codec/
MYCLOUD will continue to remain private and all files in it; until these files are linked to a public post, all files remain inaccessible from the outside. This allows you to use MYCLOUD in complete safety.
This feature is available also for images, you can read more informations here: https://blog.myetv.tv/2024/07/05/use-of-mycloud-for-images/
