Free to Use, Built to Last: Understanding Limits and Safety
Now, let’s talk about everyone’s favorite topic: costs.
How much does it cost to use the MYETV API? Absolutely nothing. We believe that empowering our community shouldn't come with a premium- [Special Accounts: an account with elevated privileges and/or access to special sections] - price tag. Accessing the Developer Dashboard, generating your App Keys, and making requests to the API is 100% free of charge. We want to see what amazing things you can build, without putting financial barriers in your way.
However, to keep the platform- [Platform: the set of the main domain and all the subdomain of a particular website; also the computer architecture and equipment using a particular operating system] - lightning-fast and secure for millions of users, we have implemented smart Rate Limits.
Think of rate limiting like traffic lights on a busy highway. If everyone drives at once without rules, there’s a traffic jam, and the whole system slows down. Our API has built-in traffic lights. For example, it might allow a specific application to read profiles 15 times per minute, or publish 10 posts per minute. This generous allowance is more than enough for regular, automated content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - sharing, but it acts as a digital shield against spam bots, malicious scripts, or accidental infinite loops that could harm the platform. It keeps MYETV safe, stable, and incredibly fast.
But what about your daily posting limits? This is where things get really exciting. While the API infrastructure itself is free, the actual number of posts you can publish daily is tied to your specific MYETV User Account- [Account: an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] - .
