Summer is coming to an end and if you need to relax before leaving for work, know that we have not gone on vacation and have prepared a couple of updates that are certainly interesting. If you need to relax your eyes a bit from the sun, know that we have significantly improved the dark mode (the default for apps for TV devices) one of the best dark modes ever; we have also updated the way timelines are drawn, from now on everything is client-side with significant improvements especially on loading speed; the entire private messages section has also been improved with new features and new ways of interacting with other networks. We just have to discover all these new features in detail.
Improved Dark Mode
Rest your eyes after all that sun with one of the best dark modes ever. We created this mode specifically for TV devices but it can also be enabled on the platform- [Platform: the set of the main domain and all the subdomain of a particular website; also the computer architecture and equipment using a particular operating system] - via browser or in the mobile app; several parts have been improved by balancing the text and the background so as not to strain the eyes. This mode also allows for energy savings on the latest generation screens.
Improved Timeline Design
The timeline on the homepage and network- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - pages has been updated with new client-side scripts that are much faster and an update to datatables2.x. This update has eliminated a lot of code that was not used, thus speeding up the entire asset loading process; some default backgrounds have also been added that anticipate the loading of content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - . We still need some time to update all the platform scripts, but we are well underway. Above all, we have managed to implement this update successfully in just a few days; mainly, we have moved all the client-side scripts into one, so as not to repeat in a loop, resulting in a significant increase in performance. This update has also affected the datatables used in all applications, such as private messages.
Private Messages Updates
Finally we have updated the entire private messages application and this also concerns the myapp- [MYAPPS: applications that the owners of the networks can build within them to add additional functionality to the content or to the entire network] - of comments under the contents- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - (where activated); first of all we have added a new report button for any message that leads to the new platform on https://support.myetv.tv and can be used to report any message to the administration. A new button has also been added to start a conversation with any network (if the network does not have particular privacy protections), just enter the complete URL of the network with which to start a conversation and you will be redirected to the conversation page (if the network has set privacy only for followers- [Follower: a follower refers to a person who subscribes to your account or network in order to receive your updates] - , a message will warn you that you cannot open a conversation with that network if you do not follow it first). Furthermore, the access- [Access the simple access to a website as a visitor] - method to the private messages platform is also about to be changed, which will no longer have the classic interface via a modal window but will be full screen via a direct link.

After all this work do we deserve the holidays? Not yet… This year for Halloween the scary Jack’o’Lantern will arrive and so there will be many other updates that will be made as a surprise. Each of them will be documented on this blog and by the end of the year we should also update our terms of service and privacy policy with all the changes. It will be a truly incredible and surprise-filled end of the year for the MYETV platform.
