MYETV File Manager Opensource

Introducing Our Brand New File Management System: A Major Upgrade to Your MYCLOUD Experience

We’re thrilled to announce a significant upgrade to MYETV‘s infrastructure that will transform how you manage, organize, and interact with your personal cloud storage. Today marks the official launch of our completely redesigned file management system for MYCLOUD a powerful, modern solution that brings professional grade capabilities directly to your fingertips.

Why This Matters to You

If you’re a content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - creator on MYETV, you know that your private MYCLOUD is the heart of your workflow. It’s where you store your videos, images, audio files, and documents before publishing them to your audience. It’s your personal staging area, your content library, and your creative workspace all rolled into one.

Until now, managing these files has been functional but somewhat limited. We heard your feedback loud and clear: you wanted faster uploads, better organization tools, more intuitive navigation, and a modern interface that feels as good as the desktop file managers you use every day. You told us you needed something that could keep up with your growing content libraries and increasingly complex workflows; and we did much more we made it open source and usable by anyone

That’s exactly what we’ve built.

Meet Our New File Manager: Built for Creators, Designed for Everyone

Our new file management system isn’t just an incremental improvement it’s a complete reimagining of how cloud storage should work on a content platform- [Platform: the set of the main domain and all the subdomain of a particular website; also the computer architecture and equipment using a particular operating system] - . Whether you’re uploading your first video or managing thousands of files across multiple content networks, this system adapts to your needs.

What Makes It Special?

A Familiar Desktop Experience, Anywhere You Go

The moment you open your MYCLOUD, you’ll notice the difference. Gone is the cluttered interface of the past. In its place, you’ll find a clean, intuitive workspace that feels like the file manager on your computer because that’s exactly what we designed it to replicate.

You get folder trees, breadcrumb navigation, drag-and-drop functionality, and keyboard shortcuts that work exactly as you’d expect. Want to select multiple files? Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and click. Need to select a range? Use Shift. Want to rename a file? Press F2. These aren’t just nice to have features they’re the muscle memory you’ve already developed, now available in your browser.

Lightning-Fast Upload- [Upload: the action by a owners of the network of sending an image or audio or video file (named as content) from the device] - for Large Files

One of the biggest game-changers is our advanced chunked upload system. Previously, uploading large video files could be nerve wracking. If your connection hiccupped or your browser crashed, you’d lose everything and have to start over.

Not anymore.

Our new system breaks large files into small chunks and uploads them piece by piece. If something goes wrong, it simply resumes from where it left off. You can see exactly how much has been uploaded, how fast it’s going, and how much time remains. Upload a 2GB video file? No problem. Your browser crashes at 95%? No worries reload the page and it’ll finish the last 5%.

This technology is the same used by major cloud storage providers, and now it’s built right into MYCLOUD.

Multilingual Support for Our Global Community

MYETV has always been proud of its diverse, international community. That’s why our new file manager automatically displays in your preferred language. Whether you’ve set your MYETV interface to English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, or Russian, your MYCLOUD interface adapts instantly.

No more struggling with unfamiliar terminology or trying to guess what buttons do. Everything is presented in the language you’re most comfortable with, making file management feel natural and effortless.

Smart Organization Tools

Managing hundreds or thousands of files requires smart organization tools, and we’ve packed plenty of them into this new system:

  • Powerful Search: Find any file instantly by name, even if it’s buried deep in subfolders
  • Flexible Sorting: Sort by name, size, date, or file type with a single click
  • Multiple View Modes: Switch between detailed list view for precise management or grid view for visual browsing
  • Trash System: Accidentally deleted something? No panic deleted files go to a trash folder where you can restore them before they’re permanently removed
  • Batch Operations: Select multiple files and perform actions on all of them at once copy, move, delete, or download in bulk

Designed for Both Solo Creators and Teams

One of the most powerful aspects of our new system is how it handles different use cases seamlessly.

For Individual Creators:

Your personal MYCLOUD remains completely private. Only you can access- [Access the simple access to a website as a visitor] - your files. It’s your personal workspace where you can experiment, organize drafts, and prepare content before going public. The file manager respects your privacy absolutely no one else can peek into your folders, not even other MYETV users.

For Content Network- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - Owners:

If you manage a public content network on MYETV, you know that collaboration is essential. Our new file manager makes team collaboration effortless. Network owners- [Network Owner: the owner(s) of the referenced network of contents (or Network)] - can access shared MYCLOUD storage alongside their team members, making it easy to coordinate content production, share assets, and maintain a central library of materials.

The system intelligently shows you which folders belong to your personal account- [Account: an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] - and which are shared network- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - resources, all in the same unified interface. No more switching between different systems or losing track of where files are stored.

The Technology Behind the Magic: Why We Went Open Source

Here’s something you might not know: the file manager powering your MYCLOUD experience is not only custom built for MYETV it’s also completely open source. We’re not just using it; we’re sharing it with the world.

Why Open Source Matters

When we set out to build this new system, we had a choice: license- [License: a permit from an authority to own or use something, do a particular thing, or carry on a trade] - an existing commercial solution or build something from scratch. We chose the latter, and then we took it a step further by releasing our code to the public.

Transparency and Trust

By making our file manager open source, we’re inviting the entire developer community to examine how it works. Security researchers can audit the code for vulnerabilities. Developers can suggest improvements. And anyone who’s curious can simply browse the source code and see exactly what’s happening behind the scenes.

This level of transparency builds trust. You’re not just taking our word that your files are secure you can verify it yourself or have someone you trust verify it for you.

Community Driven Innovation

Open source doesn’t just mean transparent it means collaborative. Developers around the world can contribute improvements, fix bugs, and add features. The best ideas win, regardless of where they come from. This means our file manager benefits from the collective intelligence of a global community, not just our internal team.

Free for Everyone

Perhaps most importantly, by releasing this as open source under the MIT License, we’re giving back to the community that has supported MYETV. Other platforms, developers, and projects can use our file manager freely. They can learn from it, build upon it, or integrate it into their own systems.

You can explore the complete source code, documentation, and technical details on our GitHub repository: https://github.com/OskarCosimo/My-File-Manager-Opensource

The repository includes comprehensive documentation covering everything from basic setup to advanced customization. Whether you’re a developer curious about how it works or an entrepreneur looking for a file management solution for your own project, it’s all there, freely available. Please note the repository is actually in construction.

Security and Privacy: Your Files, Your Control

We know that trusting a platform with your content is a big decision. That’s why we’ve built security into every layer of our new file manager.

Multiple Layers of Protection

Authentication and Authorization

Before you can access any file in MYCLOUD, the system verifies your identity and checks your permissions. Every single request whether you’re uploading, downloading, or simply viewing a file goes through strict security validation.

Path Traversal Protection

One of the most common security vulnerabilities in file management systems is called “path traversal,” where malicious users try to access files outside their authorized folders. Our system has robust protection against this, ensuring that users can only access files they’re explicitly allowed to see.

File Type Validation

Not all file types are created equal. Some can pose security risks if uploaded to a server. Our system performs rigorous validation of every uploaded file, checking both the file extension and the actual file content to ensure it’s what it claims to be. Dangerous file types are blocked automatically.

Size Limits and Quota Management

Every MYCLOUD account has storage limits, and our system enforces these limits strictly but fairly. You can always see how much space you’ve used and how much remains available. When you approach your limit, the system warns you before you run out of space.

What About Encryption- [Encryption: to change electronic information or signals into a secret code (= system of letters, numbers, or symbols) that people cannot understand or use on normal equipment] - ?

You might be wondering about file encryption. Our open source file manager actually includes powerful end-to-end encryption capabilities using industry-standard AES-256-GCM encryption. However, for MYETV‘s implementation, we’ve made a deliberate choice not to enable this feature.

Here’s why: encryption adds complexity and can impact performance, especially when you’re frequently accessing and publishing files to your audience. For most MYETV use cases storing videos, images, and content intended for public sharing the overhead of encryption doesn’t provide meaningful benefits.

Your files are already protected by multiple security layers, stored on secure servers, and accessible only to authorized users. The encryption feature remains available in the open source code for anyone who needs it for different use cases, but for MYETV‘s specific needs, we’ve optimized for speed and usability instead.

Performance That Scales With You

Whether you’re uploading a single image or managing a library of hundreds of videos, our new file manager maintains excellent performance.

Intelligent Chunking

Large file uploads use our intelligent chunking system, which automatically divides files into optimal-sized pieces. This isn’t just about reliability it’s also about speed. By uploading multiple chunks in parallel (when possible), we maximize your bandwidth usage and minimize upload times.

Efficient File Listing

Even if you have thousands of files in your MYCLOUD, the interface remains fast and responsive. Files are loaded and rendered efficiently, with smooth scrolling and instant interactions. Search results appear in milliseconds, not seconds. Two different file listing: “list: list of files” and “grid: big icons”.

Minimal Resource Usage

We’ve optimized the client-side code to use minimal browser resources. You can keep your MYCLOUD tab open all day without worrying about memory leaks or performance degradation. The system uses modern web technologies and best practices to deliver a smooth experience on any device.

What’s Next: Continuous Improvement

This launch is just the beginning. Because our file manager is built on a modern, modular architecture, we can continuously add features and improvements without disrupting your workflow.

Planned Enhancements

We’re already working on several exciting additions:

  • Enhanced preview capabilities: View more file types directly in your browser without downloading them first
  • Advanced search filters: Find files based on size, date ranges, or file types
  • Customizable views: Choose which columns to display and how to organize your workspace
  • Keyboard shortcuts reference: A built-in guide to help you master productivity shortcuts

Your Feedback Shapes Our Roadmap

We’re listening. As you use this new system, we want to hear about your experience. What works well? What could be better? What features would make your workflow even smoother?

Your feedback directly influences our development priorities. The best ideas from our community often become the features we build next.

Getting Started: It’s Already There

The best part? You don’t need to do anything to access this new system. It’s already live in your MYETV account.

Simply log into MYETV, navigate to your MYCLOUD section, and you’ll immediately see the new interface. Everything you’re familiar with is still there all your existing files, folders, and content are exactly where you left them. The only difference is the powerful new tools you now have to manage them.

If you’re new to MYETV, creating an account automatically gives you access to your personal MYCLOUD with this new file manager included.

A Platform Built by Creators, for Creators
