Public Links: Share Files in a Smarter Way
MYCLOUD now lets you generate public links for any file directly from your file manager, making it easier than ever to share content- [Sharer: the section of the platform with which the networks can share content, inside or outside of the platform] - securely and on your terms. By right‑clicking on a file and selecting “Generate public link”, the system creates a temporary download URL you can share via messengers, email, or any channel you prefer.
When generating a public link, you can fine‑tune how it behaves:
- Choose whether the link is accessible to everyone or only registered MYETV users.
- Set the lifetime of the link, from 1 hour up to 2 days (and even longer for special accounts- [Special Accounts: an account with elevated privileges and/or access to special sections] - ).
- Configure a wait time before download (for standard accounts, the minimum is typically 30 seconds or 1 minute, depending on traffic).
- Limit how many times the file can be downloaded (for example, if you set “10”, the link is automatically disabled on the 11th attempt).
This public link system is an evolution of the MYCLOUD file manager, designed to give you granular control over how your files are distributed while keeping your storage and privacy under control.

The Special “videos” Folder in MYCLOUD
All audio/video contents- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - that you publish on MYETV as content- [Contents: every content intended as text, images, audio or video] - in your networks are now encoded and stored inside a dedicated “videos” folder within MYCLOUD. This folder is special: you cannot upload- [Upload: the action by a owners of the network of sending an image or audio or video file (named as content) from the device] - files directly into it, and any data inside it does not count toward your MYCLOUD GB quota.
When you publish a media file on MYETV, the platform- [Platform: the set of the main domain and all the subdomain of a particular website; also the computer architecture and equipment using a particular operating system] - creates an encoded version optimized for streaming purposes and moves it into the “videos” folder, then removes the original source file from your normal storage. From that moment on, only the encoded version inside “videos” is used for playback on MYETV, ensuring better performance, consistency, and quota management.
Content Linking Between MYCLOUD and MYETV
The relationship between MYCLOUD and MYETV is now tighter and more predictable for published media. If you delete the folder in MYCLOUD that corresponds to a given published content (inside the special “videos” area), that content will be removed from MYETV as well. Conversely, if a content is removed from MYETV, the associated encoded files in “videos” will also be cleaned up.
This bidirectional link means your storage remains cleaner over time, and you maintain a clear connection between what exists in MYCLOUD and what is actually available on MYETV. It also helps avoid duplicated or orphaned files that would otherwise waste space or cause confusion.
Community Standards and Public Visibility
Once a media file is published on MYETV from MYCLOUD, it becomes publicly accessible according to your chosen visibility settings on the platform and is subject to MYETV’s community standards. That means you must respect all rules regarding copyrighted material, illegal content, and harmful or abusive behavior.
Moderators retain full rights and tools to review and moderate published contents that violate the rules, including removal, restriction, or other enforcement actions where necessary. Using MYCLOUD as a source for your MYETV publications does not bypass moderation or community protections; it simply streamlines your workflow and storage management.
Evolving Special Accounts and Standalone Services
Alongside these MYCLOUD improvements, MYETV is also revisiting how special accounts and individual services are structured. The goal is to allow users to upgrade specific features such as increasing available MYCLOUD storage without being forced to purchase a large, more expensive bundle of services they may not need.
This means more flexibility in how you invest in your MYETV experience: whether you want more GB for MYCLOUD, extended durations and higher limits for public links, or additional tools tailored to your use case, the platform will move toward more modular and user‑friendly options.
New link sharing feature
We are also working on a way to share links equally; although it is not yet possible to publish two equal links in two different networks, we will try to implement a system that allows you to share the same link in two different networks with references to the link that was published first among all the others. For example, if a link xyz is published from a public network- [Network of Contents: is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] - and the same link xyz is published from an account- [Account: an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] - or another public network, a notice will be displayed with a link that points to the content that was shared first, visible to anyone; and a notice will also be published for the network owners- [Network Owner: the owner(s) of the referenced network of contents (or Network)] - who shared it first, visible only to the owners.
