Welcome to MYDM – My Direct Message

For various reasons we wanted to disable some of our projects in favor of other projects that are more important to us; one of these new projects is “MYDM” or “My Direct Messages” is a messaging platform-[Platform]: [the the set of the main domain and all the subdomain of a particular website; also the computer architecture and equipment using a particular operating system] that uses end-to-end encryption-[Encryption]: [to change electronic information or signals into a secret code (= system of letters, numbers, or symbols) that people cannot understand or use on normal equipment] which replaces VOX and which is reserved only for MYETV registered users. In the next few days we will edit the posts relating to the search engine-[Search Engine]: [is the application that deals with the search for content, networks or anything else on the platform] which has already been modified to exclude the +VOX syntax. The new messaging system is reserved only for people registered on MYETV with their verified account-[Account]: [an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password] and can be used by both private accounts and public pages to send text messages; the difference is that private accounts will be able to manage 1 to 1 communications and partecipate to others 1 to many conversations while public pages will be able to manage both 1 to 1 and 1 to many communications; followers-[Follower]: [a follower refers to a person who subscribes to your account or network in order to receive your updates] of public networks will also receive notifications if any 1-to-many communications are updated with new messages. Communications and messages from administrators of the platform will be always available (also if MYDM is disabled). This is a small revolution for our platform.

MYDM for accounts

MYDMs for accounts are simple to set up, via the profile edit page in the “PRIVACY OPTIONS PERSONAL INFORMATION” section; can be selected who can send My Direct Messages to the private account-[Account]: [an Account contains the personal information that is assigned to those who register and access with email and password]:

  • Registered users only: this is the default selection and only allows registered users to send you MYDM
  • Followers only: if checked, only confirmed followers can send you private messages
  • Disabled: if selected no one can send you MYDMs

There is no longer a “public” option for MYDMs in accounts; furthermore, it is possible to select whether MYDM must be moderated (i.e. approved) before publication in any public chat (like the comments under the contents-[Contents]: [every content intended as text, images, audio or video]).

My Direct Messages for accounts can only be read by the person sending them and the account owner receiving them; only 1 to 1 messages can be sent.

MYDM for public network of contents-[Network of Contents]: [is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners]

MYDMs for public content-[Contents]: [every content intended as text, images, audio or video] networks can be set from the selected content network-[Network of Contents]: [is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners]’s edit page; When managing content networks, you need to select your public content network and then edit the information. At the bottom of the editing page you can find settings such as “who can send you MYDMs” you can choose between:

  • Registered users only: this is the default selection and only allows registered users to send you MYDM (default selected)
  • Followers only: if checked, only confirmed followers can send you private messages
  • Disabled: if selected no one can send you MYDMs

There is no longer a “public” option for MYDMs in networks; furthermore, it is possible to select whether MYDM must be moderated (i.e. approved) before publication in any public chat (like the comments under the contents).

My Direct Messages for public networks can only be read by those who send them and the owner of the account who receives them but also by the entire public; Both 1 to 1 messages (private messages) and 1 to many messages (public messages) can be sent. For this reason there is also an option to decide who can read messages:

  • Public: Public messages can be read by anyone
  • Registered users only: public messages can be read by those who are logged in (default selected)
  • Followers only: Public messages can be read by all followers
  • Disabled: public messages can only be read by network owners-[Network Owner]: [the owner(s) of the referenced network of contents (or Network)]

In the next few days we will modify the conditions of use of MYETV as well as the privacy policy to better reflect these latest news; furthermore we will also change the name of the MYAPP-[MYAPPS]: [applications that the owners of the networks can build within them to add additional functionality to the content or to the entire network] which allows you to insert comments into the contents in MYDM+. Let’s warmly welcome the new My Direct Messages.

How to open a MYDM conversation

It is possible to accessAccess [the simple access to a website as a visitor] the MYDM dashboard via the left menu, under the “communications” item and then the “Messages” option; or in the network-[Network of Contents]: [is the channel in which owners can post their content and the audience can see the contents posted by the owners] information there is a speech bubble icon, it is simply press that button to open a conversation directly with that network.

Encryption and security

The My Direct Messages are encrypted with end-to-end encryption by default and can be also locked with a password, both the receiver and the sender must insert that password to read it; the password can be set different for every messages or one password for the whole conversation.
